In which Dani came to Aberdeen

So, in March (yes, yes, this post is long overdue...as is the post about my Easter holiday adventures) my best friend came to visit! It was fun! She flew into Edinburgh so I took the train down to meet her there and her first weekend in Scotland we spent our time split between Edinburgh and St Andrews. It was fun! She got to experience some of the strange weather that Scotland has to offer - although no snow, which was probably a good thing because she was close to freezing the whole time she was here anyway. It made me realize just how HOT California will seem to me when I get back there. Temperatures happen that that I haven't experienced the whole time I've been in Aberdeen (except for perhaps in someone's home or on a crowded swing dance floor). But it was good to have her here, to be able to share some of my life here with someone from home; someone who's known me for so long (coming up on 13 years!).

Unfortunately she came when I was in the middle of having to worry about classes and homework still so a chunk of her time here she spent on her own, either sleeping or wandering around Aberdeen. Fortunately the sleep/rest was just the sort of trip she needed while she was in town. And also fortunately she was here with me for two different weekends so I was able to go adventuring again with her when I was done with my classes for the week! For this other adventure we went with my flatmate, Caitlin, to Stonehaven and hiked out to Dunnottar Castle!

Here are some of the highlights of all of our adventuring:
